Sportsman's Paradise

Louisiana is called the Sportsman's Paradise because of our rich fishing grounds and duck hunting. It could be argued that Venice, Louisiana is one of the best fishing destinations in the world. Delacroix is just as good as Venice because of the Big Mar River Diversion which makes Delacroix habitat very similar to Venice.

The difference is that Delacroix has more land, is much safer, the fishing grounds are much closer and it is only 28 miles from New Orleans! This makes Delacroix the closest place to New Orleans for some of the best inshore fishing in the world.

In the past 4 years, 8 major fishing tournaments have been won with fish that were caught in Delacroix. This year St. Bernard parish will once again host the O'Boy Oberta Redfish Cup, of which we will be a part.
